🗂️ Document control

Project documents that file themselves

Drop contracts, BOQs, drawings, invoices, permits, certificates and site photos into a project and Metrak sorts each one by type - from the file name, in Arabic or English. AutoCAD files go to the drawing register, camera photos to the photo timeline, and everything is one filter away later.

No category to pick

"INV-2031.pdf" is an invoice, "A-101 Ground Floor Plan.pdf" a drawing, "عقد مقاولة الفيلا.pdf" a contract - Metrak sorts it as you upload.

Find anything in seconds

Filter a project by contracts, invoices, permits or certificates instead of scrolling a shared folder.

Stored once, safely

The same file uploaded twice is stored once; every document stays linked to its project and history.

Photos and drawings in their place

Site photos build the photo timeline; DWG and DXF files open in the drawing viewer with revisions.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload

From the web or the phone - camera, gallery or files, up to 100 MB each.

  2. 2

    Metrak sorts it

Each file gets its type automatically; you can still pick or change it.

  3. 3

    Filter and share

Find documents by type and project, print project documents, or share with the client portal.

The shared folder problem

Every contractor has the same folder: hundreds of files called scan, IMG and final-final. Asking people to choose a category on every upload does not work on site. Sorting automatically - and letting people correct it - is what keeps a document register usable after month three.

How the automatic sorting works

Clear cases are handled by rules: AutoCAD drawings are drawings, camera photos are photos, videos stay media. Everything else is classified from its file name by AI into Metrak's document types - contract, BOQ, drawing, permit, site report, invoice, purchase order, quotation, change order, certificate, feasibility study - and a name that gives no hint stays "Other" rather than a guess.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to choose a category when uploading?

No. "Detect automatically" is the default; Metrak sorts the file and you can change it at any time.

Does it read Arabic file names?

Yes. Arabic and English names are both understood - "فاتورة حديد" is an invoice, "رخصة البناء" a permit.

Is the file content sent anywhere?

For sorting, only the file name and type are used - not the file itself.

Is it included in the free plan?

Yes. Documents and automatic sorting are free; plans differ in how many files each project can hold.
