Metrak
📐 Drawings & BOQ

Open AutoCAD drawings anywhere - and get a BOQ from them

Metrak opens DWG, DXF and PDF drawings in the browser and on the phone, without AutoCAD. Pin issues on the plan from site, walk a 3D view, and let AI draft a bill of quantities from the drawing itself - walls, doors, windows, fixtures - ready for you to price.

No AutoCAD on site

Engineers and foremen open the latest revision on any phone. No licences, no converted PDFs out of date.

Issues pinned to the plan

Drop a pin where the problem is, attach a photo, assign it. Everyone sees the same spot on the same drawing.

A BOQ draft in minutes

AI reads the drawing's layers, outlines, blocks and labels and proposes quantities - wall runs, areas, door and window counts - for you to check.

Revisions kept in order

Every drawing keeps its revisions and history, so "which version did we build from?" has an answer.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the DWG

Drop a DWG, DXF or PDF. Metrak files AutoCAD files in the drawing register automatically, titled from the file name.

  2. 2

    View, mark up, share

Zoom the plan, pin site issues, open the 3D view, and share the latest revision with the team.

  3. 3

    Draft the BOQ

Ask for a BOQ from the drawing; review the proposed items and quantities, adjust, and add them to the project budget.

Why a DWG viewer belongs in project management

Drawings are where site questions start - but they usually live on one engineer's laptop. When the plan, the issues, the RFIs and the BOQ sit in the same project, a question pinned on the drawing becomes a tracked issue, and a quantity in the BOQ can be traced back to the sheet it came from.

How AI reads an AutoCAD drawing

Metrak parses the DWG directly - layers, closed outlines and their areas, line lengths, circles, text labels and block references such as doors, windows and sanitary fittings - and summarises it per layer before asking AI for quantities. That keeps the analysis fast and affordable even on furnished, detailed plans, and every proposed item states where it came from.

Frequently asked questions

Can I open DWG files without AutoCAD?

Yes. Metrak opens DWG and DXF (and PDF) drawings in the browser and in the mobile app; no AutoCAD licence is needed.

How accurate is the BOQ from a drawing?

It is a draft: quantities that the drawing states clearly (wall runs, areas, block counts) come out consistently; ambiguous layers need your judgement. You always review before anything is added.

Does it support revisions?

Yes. Each drawing keeps its revisions; issues and markups stay linked to the revision they were raised on.

Is the drawing viewer free?

Opening DWG, DXF and PDF drawings is included in the free plan. AI analysis of drawings uses AI credits on paid plans.
